The Ryanna Rogue Universe

the universe

## It Started at the Circus…

While Floyd is clearly the star — at least in his own mind — he eventually gained friends, including Felix, Sheldon, Leo, Madame Mirage, and others, and what started as a collection of recurring characters has grown into the Ryanna Rogue Universe. They have adventures. They have inside jokes. They have lore. They hide in artwork. Sometimes they show up where you least expect them.

Long before there were unions, paranormal investigators, official seals, racing turtles, polar-bear protests or enough paperwork to bury a small municipality, there was a circus.

Not an ordinary circus.

This one existed somewhere between imagination, emotion, music and the wonderfully chaotic place inside Ryanna Rogue’s head.

That was the original idea behind *Welcome to the Circus!*

The characters weren’t merely performers.

They represented pieces of ourselves—the orderly parts and chaotic parts, confidence and anxiety, strength and fear, curiosity, instinct and resilience.

Nobody gets to keep only the pretty pieces.

You take the good, the bad, the strange and the ridiculous together.

They’re all part of one wonderful you.

And presiding over this particular collection of personalities was a ringmaster named Madame Mirage.

Nobody realized they were watching the beginning of an entire Universe.

Especially not the squirrel eating popcorn.

# RYANNA ROGUE

## The Creator Who Accidentally Fell Into Her Own Universe

Ryanna Rogue created the music.

Then the music started creating something back.

Songs arrived with images attached to them. Images produced characters. Characters developed personalities. Personalities created relationships.

And then those characters started remembering things.

That’s when the rules changed.

Ryanna became both the creator of the Ryanna Rogue Universe and a character living inside it.

She can introduce a story.

She can create a song.

She can put everybody on a stage.

What happens afterward is considerably less predictable.

Her creative rule has always been simple:

*Whatever pops into her head, she makes.*

That spontaneity became one of the fundamental laws of the Universe.

There isn’t a giant predetermined mythology dictating where everything must go. Stories grow organically.

Something ridiculous happens.

Everyone moves on.

Months later, somebody references it.

Suddenly you realize:

It never disappeared.

That’s canon.

### The Universe remembers.

Ryanna may have created these characters.

That does not necessarily mean she controls them.

Floyd has made this abundantly clear.

# MADAME MIRAGE

## The Ringmaster

Madame Mirage

Before there was a Ryanna Rogue Universe, there was Madame Mirage.

Elegant, theatrical and completely at home in controlled chaos, Madame Mirage was the ringmaster at the heart of *Welcome to the Circus!*

With her black top hat, dark curls streaked with red, dramatic burgundy ringmaster coat, thigh-high boots and ornate microphone cane, Mirage was born to command a spotlight.

But Mirage was never simply “the woman running the circus.”

She represented something deeper.

### Control.

The conscious mind.

The part of us desperately trying to organize all the other pieces.

Around her were characters embodying curiosity, distraction, emotion, instinct, anxiety and resilience.

Mirage didn’t hate those parts.

She didn’t try to banish them.

That was the point.

The circus was inside all of us.

Mirage’s job wasn’t to eliminate the chaos.

It was to conduct it.

That remains her role today.

Floyd can create havoc.

Sheldon can go the wrong direction.

Leo can start tap dancing.

Polar bears can begin picketing.

Actual seals can become offended over administrative terminology.

Madame Mirage will stand in the center of it all with her microphone cane and the expression of a woman who somehow suspected this was going to happen.

She doesn’t stop the show.

She makes sure:

### The Show Must Go On.

# FLOYD

## Chaos Coordinator • Master of Mischief • Keeper of the Popcorn

Floyd

And then there was Floyd.

An Eastern gray squirrel.

Burgundy mohawk.

Black sunglasses.

Maroon vest.

Popcorn.

Attitude.

Lots of attitude.

Floyd originally represented curiosity and distraction — the unpredictable thought that wanders through the carefully organized circus inside your head and immediately starts touching things.

He became the circus’s resident chaos coordinator almost instantly.

And Floyd discovered something important very early:

If you walk around looking sufficiently confident, people eventually assume you’re supposed to be there.

So he stayed.

Floyd became a professional photobomber, appearing in scenes where nobody remembered putting him.

Usually with popcorn.

He watched.

He commented.

He interfered.

He developed opinions.

Eventually, complaints apparently began being directed to him.

Thus came one of the earliest known examples of Floyd administration:

### “Floyd has received your complaint and will get right back to you as soon as he’s done with his popcorn.”

He never left.

That decision would have consequences.

# THE CIRCUS INCIDENT

## Floyd Doesn’t Talk About It

Floyd scared

Something happened at the circus.

A very long time ago.

It involved Floyd.

And dogs.

That’s essentially everything anyone knows.

Whatever happened frightened Floyd badly enough to leave him with a lasting fear of dogs.

Was he chased?

Cornered?

Was there a performance gone wrong?

Did somebody knock over his popcorn?

Nobody knows.

The event occurred so long ago that there is nobody left who was there and could reliably tell the story.

No complete record of the incident has ever been found.

And Floyd?

Floyd isn’t talking.

Ask him about the dogs and the sunglasses stay on.

The subject changes.

Possibly to popcorn.

So the exact event has been lost to time.

Only the consequence remains.

Floyd is afraid of dogs.

For a long time, that was merely an odd piece of Floyd’s history.

Then the polar bears arrived.

And suddenly it mattered.

Because:

### The Universe remembers.

# LEO

## The Lion Who Somehow Became a Professional Tap Dancer

Leo tapdancing

Leo was there from the circus days too.

A magnificent realistic male lion with a huge golden mane, quiet dignity and the perpetual expression of someone who suspects the squirrel is about to cause another problem.

Leo represented emotion and instinct.

Fear and power.

Protection.

The enormous part of ourselves capable of being frightening and frightened at the same time.

Leo is calm.

Dependable.

Protective.

Professional.

And…

Leo tap dances.

Nobody really knows how this happened.

At some point, the enormous dignified lion began tap dancing.

It was unexpected.

It was ridiculous.

It was wonderful.

Therefore it became canon.

Nobody asks where the shoes come from.

This is considered good judgment.

As the Universe expanded, Leo became associated with the:

# P.L.C.

## Prodigious Lions Club

A look from Leo

Eventually, Leo became *Chief P.L.C.*

The organization carries itself with roughly the same quiet dignity as its Chief.

This puts Leo in direct contrast with Floyd’s increasingly complicated squirrel bureaucracy.

Leo doesn’t need seventeen job titles.

He doesn’t need three copies of everything.

He doesn’t require a popcorn budget.

Leo merely gives Floyd a look.

Sometimes that’s enough.

Sometimes it isn’t.

Usually it isn’t.

# U.S.U. 67

## The 67th United Squirrels Union

67th United

Floyd’s transition from circus squirrel to administrator eventually produced one of the most powerful — and least explicable — organizations in the Universe:

# THE 67TH UNITED SQUIRRELS UNION

Why the 67th?

Nobody knows.

Why is a circus squirrel running a union?

Also unclear.

Who gave Floyd authority?

Excellent question.

Floyd did.

U.S.U. 67 became the source of an expanding collection of rules, investigations, official notices, forms and policies.

Floyd accumulated titles.

HR Director.

Chief Compliance Officer.

Chief Inspector.

Keeper of the Popcorn Budget.

And others.

The guiding administrative philosophy seemed to be:

If something happens once, create a policy.

If something happens twice, create a department.

If anyone objects, have them complete a form.

Preferably in triplicate.

# THE POLAR BEARS

## “WE ARE NOT DOGS.”

Polar bear protest

Eventually, the polar bears wanted in.

They saw the squirrels represented by U.S.U. 67.

They saw Leo and the Prodigious Lions Club.

They wanted representation too.

So the polar bears sought inclusion in U.S.U. 67.

There was an immediate problem.

Floyd looked at them.

Large.

Four legs.

Fur.

Snouts.

Teeth.

Everyone else saw polar bears.

Floyd saw:

### ENORMOUS WHITE DOGS.

And somewhere in Floyd’s mind, that ancient circus memory came roaring back.

No.

Absolutely not.

Application denied.

The polar bears attempted to explain that they were bears.

Floyd remained unconvinced.

They explained that polar bears and dogs weren’t even members of the same biological family.

Floyd remained unconvinced.

They pointed out that they were substantially larger than dogs.

This made things worse.

To Floyd, that simply meant:

### BIGGER DOGS.

The polar bears objected.

Loudly.

Signs appeared.

### POLAR BEARS ARE NOT DOGS!

### EQUAL PAWS! EQUAL RIGHTS!

And perhaps the greatest protest slogan ever produced by the Ryanna Rogue Universe:

### SPECIES PROFILING IS UNBEARABLE!

The polar bears wanted membership.

Floyd wanted the giant dogs to go away.

Leo wanted everyone to behave like adults.

Nobody listened to Leo.

The situation escalated.

# PI²

## Public Indecency Inspector

Polar bear clothing fiasco

The polar-bear situation eventually required official oversight.

Or at least Floyd decided it did.

Enter:

# PI²
## Public Indecency Inspector.

Because once you’ve created a squirrel union, apparently the logical next step is an inspection division.

PI² became involved in the escalating dispute surrounding the polar bears, proper behavior and increasingly ridiculous questions of animal representation.

There was also the delicate matter of attire.

Polar bears were eventually subject to clothing regulations.

Regulation-approved polar-bear pants became a thing.

Scarves were encouraged.

Bow ties were acceptable.

Formal hats could be reviewed.

Dog costumes were absolutely not helping the situation.

And somewhere inside all of this bureaucratic nonsense, an official document was issued.

Unfortunately…

Someone forgot the Official Seal.

# THE OFFICIAL SEAL INCIDENT

## The Seals Would Like a Word

Seal protest

The document was official.

The process was official.

There was supposed to be an:

### OFFICIAL SEAL OF APPROVAL.

It wasn’t used.

Administrative oversight?

Certainly.

Catastrophe?

Normally, no.

Except the Ryanna Rogue Universe contains actual seals.

And eventually the seals learned that official business had been conducted without using the *Official Seal*.

The seals were offended.

Very offended.

Why have an Official Seal if nobody is going to use the Official Seal?

Nobody had a particularly good answer.

So what had begun years earlier with an unknown circus incident involving Floyd and dogs had now progressed to:

  • Floyd being afraid of dogs.
  • Polar bears reminding Floyd of dogs.
  • Floyd refusing the polar bears entry into U.S.U. 67.
  • Polar bears protesting species profiling.
  • PI² becoming involved.
  • Official paperwork being generated.
  • Someone forgetting the Official Seal.
  • And actual seals protesting the failure to use an Official Seal.
This is the Ryanna Rogue Universe in its purest form.

One joke does not replace another.

It stacks on top.

### Canon is additive.

### The Universe remembers.

# RTO

## Rocking to the Oldies

Then came:

### BLOCK BLOCK BLOCK.

Somehow, Floyd interpreted this as:

### ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK.

There are moments in history where a simple misunderstanding changes everything.

This was one of them.

Floyd’s interpretation resulted in the introduction of mandatory:

# RTO — ROCKING TO THE OLDIES.

Apparently, forcing everyone to rock to the oldies increased productivity by:

### 67%.

Nobody has independently verified Floyd’s methodology.

Floyd nevertheless considered the program an overwhelming success.

And if rocking to the oldies worked…

Why stop there?

# DTO

## Dance to the Oldies

Dance to the Oldies

Thus came:

# DTO — DANCE TO THE OLDIES.

DTO became a synchronized dance troupe involving the increasingly large collection of personalities and organizations inhabiting the Universe.

Floyd.

Leo.

Sheldon.

The polar bears.

Cats.

And assorted others who presumably had made poor decisions earlier that day.

They practiced.

They synchronized.

They became good.

Really good.

Good enough that somebody had a brilliant idea:

# AMERICA’S GOT TALENT.

They were going to audition.

And they were going to win.

There was only one problem.

His name was Sheldon.

# SHELDON

## Racer • Adventure Specialist • Turtle With NASCAR Dreams

Sheldon

Sheldon didn’t begin at the circus.

He came later.

And Sheldon arrived with one fundamental belief:

Being a turtle should have absolutely no bearing on your racing career.

Sheldon loves racing.

He has NASCAR dreams.

He has a burgundy racing helmet.

He has tinted racing goggles.

He has a racing shell.

And he has a number:

# 26.

The number commemorates *2026*, the year Sheldon and his racing identity were created.

Sheldon approaches nearly everything like he’s waiting for the green flag.

He’s determined.

He’s loyal.

He’s enthusiastic.

He’s courageous.

And when Sheldon commits to something, he commits completely.

This is an admirable quality.

Usually.

Sheldon also requires prescription eyewear.

This is extremely important.

Unfortunately, Sheldon occasionally forgets this.

Which brings us back to America’s Got Talent.

# THE FIRST AGT AUDITION

## Sheldon, Where Are Your Goggles?

DTO had practiced its routine.

Everyone knew the choreography.

They went to *America’s Got Talent*.

They performed.

And they were killing it.

They were synchronized.

They were entertaining.

They were actually good.

Even Simon was reaching for the:

# GOLDEN BUZZER.

And then things began looking…

wrong.

Everyone moved one direction.

Sheldon moved another.

Turn right?

Sheldon went left.

Move forward?

Sheldon went backward.

Formation change?

Sheldon headed the opposite way.

There was a reason.

Sheldon had learned the choreography:

# BACKWARDS.

He wasn’t wearing his updated prescription *Racing Goggles™*.

He didn’t have the correct glasses either.

Sheldon had therefore watched the choreography incorrectly, learned it incorrectly and proceeded to perform it incorrectly with the confidence of a turtle absolutely certain he was nailing it.

Then came the fatal decision.

The rest of DTO followed him.

What resulted was, technically:

### enthusiastically synchronized…

### but entirely incorrect.

The Golden Buzzer got away.

They lost.

Sheldon remained Sheldon.

And from that moment forward, one of the most important operational rules in the entire Ryanna Rogue Universe became:

# MAKE SURE SHELDON IS WEARING THE CORRECT GOGGLES.

Not similar goggles.

Not old goggles.

Not racing goggles with the wrong prescription.

### THE CORRECT PRESCRIPTION GOGGLES.

There are reasons for policies.

This one has witnesses.

# THE CATS

## Recognized Citizens. Explanation Unavailable.

Cats are part of the Ryanna Rogue Universe.

That’s established.

Beyond that, things become murky.

They are recognized citizens.

They participate in events.

They appear in DTO.

They occasionally have opinions about wardrobe.

They seem to understand far more than they explain.

Attempts to impose the same bureaucratic structure on cats that exists for squirrels, lions and polar bears have produced limited results.

This may be because cats don’t particularly care.

Felix eventually became the most recognizable feline face of the Universe, with his sunglasses and bow tie.

He appears.

He observes.

He participates when he feels like it.

Then he’s done.

The cats’ organizational structure — assuming one exists — is unknown.

The cats prefer it that way.

# THE PARANORMAL DIVISION

## Investigate • Analyze • Debunk • Maintain

Paranormal Investigators

As if animal labor relations weren’t enough, the Universe eventually developed another problem.

Ghosts.

Anomalies.

Strange phenomena.

Things that might be paranormal.

Things that might be explainable.

And things that might simply be AI doing something stupid.

Naturally, a department was created.

# THE PARANORMAL DIVISION.

Floyd became an investigator.

Sheldon became a Paranormal Investigator.

Leo became involved.

Equipment appeared.

Detection devices appeared.

Anomaly response kits appeared.

Even:

### ECTO POPCORN.

The Division’s operating philosophy became:

### INVESTIGATE.

### ANALYZE.

### DEBUNK.

### MAINTAIN.

Because sometimes something truly strange is happening.

And sometimes…

### IT’S JUST AI.

Sheldon proved particularly suited to paranormal investigation.

Most turtles confronted with unexplained supernatural activity might retreat into their shells.

Sheldon reaches for his goggles.

Hopefully the correct ones.

# FLOYD TO THE RESCUE

## The Squirrel Behind the Paperwork

To the Rescue

For all his nonsense, something else eventually became clear about Floyd.

He’s loyal.

When something actually goes wrong, Floyd doesn’t hide behind his paperwork.

He shows up.

That side of Floyd eventually became the heart of:

# IT’S FLOYD TO THE RESCUE!

The squirrel who began as curiosity, distraction and comic chaos became something else too:

A friend.

A surprisingly brave one.

Floyd will investigate.

Floyd will improvise.

Floyd will rescue.

Floyd will absolutely make everyone fill out the paperwork afterward.

And he still doesn’t particularly want a medal.

Popcorn is acceptable.

# O.W.L.

## Office of Wonder & Lore

### Every Story Matters.

Eventually, the Universe became too large to rely on everyone’s memory.

Especially Sheldon’s.

So there is:

# O.W.L.
### The Office of Wonder & Lore.

O.W.L. exists to preserve the stories, events, mysteries and official history of the Ryanna Rogue Universe.

Because this Universe has demonstrated repeatedly that nothing is necessarily insignificant.

A squirrel eating popcorn can become a union founder.

An ancient fear of dogs can create a polar-bear civil-rights crisis.

A missing stamp can offend an entire species.

A misunderstood phrase can create a dance troupe.

A turtle forgetting his glasses can cost everyone a Golden Buzzer.

And a joke that seems finished today may become the foundation of another story six months from now.

That’s why O.W.L. exists.

### Every Story Matters.

Because:

# THE UNIVERSE REMEMBERS.

# THE SECOND CHANCE

And because the Universe really does remember, the DTO story didn’t end with that first disastrous AGT audition.

Much later, the Universe expanded again.

Civil War ghosts entered the story.

They discovered dancing.

They discovered disco.

DTO discovered the ghosts.

And somebody realized:

They had unfinished business with America’s Got Talent.

The Golden Buzzer had gotten away once.

They weren’t letting that happen again.

This time there were rules.

The polar bears were instructed:

### KEEP YOUR PANTS ON.

Sheldon was instructed:

### WEAR THE CORRECT GOGGLES.

The ghosts were informed that:

### 1863 IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE FORWARDING ADDRESS.

Leo wanted a dressing room.

The polar bears wanted matching tour jackets.

The cats requested a rider.

Sheldon considered the entire thing his “postseason.”

Approximately twenty-four hours after their latest expansion, the newly enlarged DTO performed *Spookie Ookie Ookie* on America’s Got Talent.

And this time…

Simon hit the:

# GOLDEN BUZZER.

The one that got away finally came back.

Because the Universe remembered that too.

# THE HEART OF THE ROGUE CREW

Scenario mashup

Underneath all the absurdity, these characters were never supposed to be random mascots.

They began as pieces of something human.

*Madame Mirage* is control—the part trying to conduct the circus.

*Floyd* is curiosity, distraction and glorious unpredictability.

*Leo* is emotion and instinct: fear, power and protection existing together.

*Sheldon* is determination—the refusal to let what you’re “supposed” to be determine where you can go.

And as the Universe grew, those pieces stopped merely representing ideas.

They became friends.

They developed histories.

They remembered what happened to one another.

They developed inside jokes.

They made mistakes.

They rescued one another.

They celebrated together.

They accumulated an alarming number of government departments.

And somewhere between the circus, the racetrack, U.S.U. 67, the P.L.C., polar-bear protests, tap shoes, prescription goggles, paranormal investigations, Civil War ghosts and enough popcorn to destabilize a small economy…

They became the *Rogue Crew*.

That’s the heart of the Ryanna Rogue Universe.

The comedy works because the characters take the absurdity seriously.

The stories work because underneath the absurdity is something real.

Friendship.

Belonging.

Accepting every strange little part of yourself.

Finding your people.

Showing up for them.

And refusing to stop being wonderfully, unapologetically weird.

# WELCOME TO THE RYANNA ROGUE UNIVERSE

You don’t have to know the lore to enjoy the music.

You can start anywhere.

But if you decide to look closer…

Watch the backgrounds.

Read the signs.

Remember the numbers.

Pay attention to Floyd’s paperwork.

Check Sheldon’s goggles.

Never ask Leo where he keeps the tap shoes.

Don’t call a polar bear a dog.

Always use the Official Seal.

And never assume a joke is finished.

Because here, today’s ridiculous throwaway moment might become tomorrow’s official history.

### Every Story Matters.

### The Universe Remembers.

And somewhere…

Floyd is probably eating popcorn.

Ryanna Rogue
